The two-storey Tunnel Top is perched above the Stockton Tunnel, between Chinatown and Union Square, and looks a little shabby from the outside. Inside, however, the decor is urban-decay cool; films are projected against rust-coloured walls, while a DJ soundtracks the conversation. Just outside is the spot where Sam Spade surveys the scene of his partner's murder at the beginning of The Maltese Falcon.
