Silicon Valley Pride

Techies from all over the valley show their pride at the most high-tech LGBTQ festival in the country (it even has its own app). The party culminates in a colorful parade down Market Street in San Jose on Sunday. Various locations (svpride.com). Aug 26, 27 at various times; free.

Weenie Roast

Craving a hot dog? Head to the patio at Oasis for music, sunshine, free-flowing beer and grilled weiners served by hot guys. Does summer get any better than this? No. Oasis, 298 11th St (415-795-3180, sfoasis.com). Aug 27 2–6pm; free.

SEPTEMBER

Ships in the Night

A safe space focused on queer people of color and their allies, this monthly East Bay dance party features two DJs spinning hip-hop and booty-popping jams all night long. Plus, every event is a fund-raiser for a local cause. The New Parish, 579 18th St, Oakland (510-444-7474, thenewparish.com). Sept 2, 3 9pm–2am; free.
