Attempting to view this morning's rare solar eclipse from foggy San Francisco probably led to disappointment for most residents. But that doesn't mean we didn't try—it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity after all! For those who couldn't even see the sun this morning, let alone an eclipse, we rounded up the best photos from the celestial show. And you can always watch the live stream via NASA if Karl the Fog ruined it for you.

Totally worth an early trek (thanks @karlthefog) #eclipse2017

#Eclipse was less sensational than I'd anticipated, but a lot more delicious. Worth it 🌘

No eclipse glasses? No problem. Clouds got you covered. (Get it?) Beautiful view from San Francisco.
