As if San Francisco weren't already magical enough, we have a few opportunities to catch mind-blowing magic shows up our sleeves. From kid-centric magic moments to adults-only illusionists, these local acts are sure to impress even the most stubborn of skeptics.

Marrakech Magic Theater: The Marrakech Magic Theater serves up "an enchanting evening of magic and mentalism" four nights a week, right in the heart of Union Square. Arrive to this historic speakeasy up to an hour early to enjoy cocktails and Moroccan small bites, as well as some slight-of-hand, prior to mentalist Jay Alexander's performance. Fun fact: Alexander claims to be a human lie detector.

San Francisco Magic Parlor: Witness Walt Anthony conjure up some magic along with true historical tales of the City by the Bay. The show takes place Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm inside the century-old Chancellor Hotel Union Square Theatre. Anthony's performance is a blend of passionate storytelling peppered with illusions and the mix results in a truly magical experience.

California Magic Dinner Theatre: For those willing to head a bit out of town, the California Magic Dinner Theatre is worth the trip. The charmingly cheesy experience takes places in historic downtown Martinez and includes a three-course dinner, followed by a magic show hosted by local magic enthusiast Gerry Griffin and an ever-changing roster of touring illusionists. This truly old-school Bay Area experience is a magical must-do.

Real Escape Game: This final recommendation isn't so much a magic show as it is a mind-bending experience sure to thrill and frustrate you and your crew. Real Escape Game requires a team of friends (or family, co-workers, perfect strangers you just met on Craigslist, etc.) to work together and solve an array of clues and puzzles to escape from a small room in San Francisco's Japantown. Be warned, we here at Time Out S.F. tried and failed to escape. Think you're smarter than us?
