With so many things to do in San Francisco, it's easy to miss the many fantastic art exhibits and shows that pass through smaller galleries, as opposed to big museum shows. While it's nearly impossible for even the most ardent art lover to see it all, we've once again curated a collection of must see exhibits currently (or soon to be) gracing the walls of San Francisco's finest art spaces. Plan accordingly.

Dana Hart-Stone: A Western Trip, Brian Gross Fine Art

Good things comes in small packages, or in the case of "A Western Trip," small exhibits. Local artist Dana Hart-Stone will display only six new pieces, but ones that are definitely worth our time. Mural work, intricate patterns and complex details are designed to remind us of something—but what? Swing by Brian Gross gallery to find out. Through October 29, Brian Gross Fine Art, 248 Utah, San Francisco.

Portals of Wonder, The McLoughlin Gallery

In this two-artist exhibition, artist Pia Maria Martin and the creative team of Michael Garlington and Natalia Bertotti use found objects to transform chaos into order. Visitors are encouraged to leave the chaos of their world behind and lose themselves in the artists' creations, if only temporarily. Through October 29, The McLoughlin Gallery 49 Geary St, Suite 200, San Francisco.

E-Horizon, Mirus Gallery

There are so many components to this show that we love. One-named artist? Check. Graffiti? Check. Life lessons? Check! Italian artist Vesod draws inspiration from personal experiences and expresses them through his work. While graffiti is certainly an inspiration, Vest's creations are deeply intricate, Escher-esque tunnels into the artist's mind. Grab this opportunity to check out his work in person. Through October 29, Mirus Gallery 540 Howard St., San Francisco.

Natural History, Creativity Explored

Creativity Explored is a nonprofit art gallery and studio for artists with developmental disabilities and if you ask us, a San Francisco treasure. Their latest group exhibition transforms the gallery into a miniature museum—complete with bone sculptures. Throughout the show, artists explore astronomy, geology, prehistoric science and flora and fauna in a variety of mediums. Through October 26, Creativity Explored, 3245 16th Street, San Francisco.

An Uncommon Portrait of San Francisco, CK Contemporary

We always love a San Francisco-focused art exhibit. This "Uncommon Portrait" of the City by the Bay is the work of Spanish artist Juan Escauriaza. Escauriaza's photography explores boring, everyday life in San Francisco and reveals the exquisite detail in our daily reality. Through October 31, CK Contemporary, 357 Geary, San Francisco.

The ARTS Political, BridgeMaker Arts

We're on the verge of the 2016 Presidential election. Why not make some art about it? This timely exhibit over in the East Bay features seven artists as they consider (and reconsider) where we are and where we might be headed. Is true change afoot or are we on the brink of disaster? This show might have some artsy answers. Through November 4, BridgeMaker Arts, 23 Maine Street, Richmond.
