In the ever-changing world of local art, it can be easy to miss the many fantastic exhibits and shows that pass through San Francisco. While it's nearly impossible for even the most ardent art lover to see it all, we've curated a collection of must see exhibits currently gracing the walls of San Francisco's museums and galleries:

Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait at the Contemporary Jewish Museum

We're got three words for you: believe the hype. You've probably seen the posters and bus ads for this special exhibit all across town. And it's as good as it looks. Co-curated by the late singer's brother, the show includes family photos, Amy's first guitar, her clothes and a collection of art inspired by her music and legacy. Runs through November 1, 736 Mission St

Nothing Lasts Forever, a collection from Eddie Colla at the 1am Gallery

Some might call Eddie Colla's public art vandalism, although the artist would disagree. His show "Nothing Lasts Forever" is a look at the mesmerizing and gritty murals and art Colla has left on walls throughout his travels. Runs through September 9, 1000 Howard St

Zero to One on Paper at Ratio 3

Fourteen artists have contributed work to this modern show at the Mission's Ratio 3 Gallery. The colorful, complex exhibit is thought-provoking and aesthetically inspiring; don't miss a long look at Spencer Finch's colorful piece, "Back to Kansas." We want this one on our wall. Runs through August 22, 2831-A Mission St

Michael Page and Gabriela Cobar at 111 Minna Gallery

It can be easy to forget that 111 Minna is an art gallery. The event space plays home to nightly dance parties, special events and even weddings. But don't forget to gaze at the carefully curated walls. This month, visually striking artists (and San Francisco natives) Michael Page and Gabriela Cobar take center stage. Give yourself some time with this exhibit. Runs through August 29, 111 Minna St

1, 2, 3, 4, 5… 100 by Minji Sohn at 2291 Third Street Gallery

San Francisco artist Minji Sohn reflects on the ever-growing expense of living in the city through this dramatic performance art exhibit, in which the artist sits in the middle of the gallery and bangs on an abstract sheet house with a hammer. There is also a video component to the show featuring Sohn in various San Francisco neighborhoods reading house numbers aloud. Runs through September 5, 2291 3rd St

Younger than George: 12 Painters in their 20s and 30s at the George Lawson Gallery

Art is ageless, and we love the idea of celebrating young and emerging local artists. The "Younger than George" exhibit at the George Lawson Gallery is a cheeky, celebratory look at the new guard of local artists. Runs through September 5, 315 Potrero Ave
