The name might sound a bit like a late-night talk show, but China Live is set to be San Francisco Chinatown's first four-story retail food hall and restaurant complex. And their opening might be just around the corner.

The 30,000 square foot, 20 million dollar Chinese food palace was set to open in February of 2015; obviously that didn't happen. The whole production is running two years behind schedule but according to Eater SF, China Live is really gonna happen soon. Probably.

The China Live concept was created by husband-and-wife team George Chen and Cindy Wong-Chen, the folks that brought us the now-shuttered Betelnut, among others. They'll run the hall's 42-seat fine dining restaurant, Eight Tables. China Live will also contain more casual dining options, a handful of bars, a marketplace (called Marketplace) which will sell curated culinary retail items, and Gold Mountain Lounge, a private dining and drinking experience—all overlooking Broadway.

"China Live will be the city’s newest must-visit epicurean destination," boats the China Live website, "providing unprecedented access to Chinese gastronomy."

The team behind China Live now have their eyes set on an opening before 2017's Chinese New Year, the year of the rooster.
