The Bay Area's biggest names in music, business and philanthropy are joining forces to raise money for those affected by the devastating wildfires that ripped through Northern California earlier this month.

The coalition, which calls itself Band Together Bay Area, has already raised more than $6.5 million dollars, but hopes to raise much more for long-term relief for the low-income families, immigrants and other fire victims who lost everything.

That's why they called in the big guns. Another Planet Entertainment and Live Nation, rival promotion companies, are working together to bring rock and roll legends Metallica and the Dave Matthews Band as well as Oakland-born rapper G-Eazy on stage for a special benefit concert at AT&T Park on November 9. Tickets, which go on sale on Friday, range from $49.50 to $199.50, and Ticketmaster has pledged to donate all processing fees to the relief effort. Expect more acts to be added to the lineup in the next couple weeks.

All proceeds from the concert and related fundraising initiatives will benefit the Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund to support temporary housing, food, and health care services for impacted communities.

And to honor our local heroes, seats in the stadium will be reserved for first responders, volunteers and families who were caught in the firestorm.

“My heart goes out to all those affected by the devastating fires,” said G-Eazy. “The Bay Area is forever my home, my heart and soul, and it hurts to see so many people lose everything.”
