It's ba-ack! San Francisco's beloved weekly outdoor food truck festival returns to its spot at Fort Mason. Every Friday evening through October, Off the Grid will offer 13 food trucks and 15 open air vendors, plus DJs and occasional live music, a lively bar scene, an updated layout, a new incubator program, and a radical Kid Zone—all backed up against the sparking San Francisco Bay.

Seventeen new vendors join the line-up this year, including food from Tia Chi Jianbing, Chef Yaku, Aburaya Japanese, Revenge Pie, Capelo's BBQ, and Turnt Up Tacos & Tortas. "Fort Mason Center has always been a great communal gathering, but this year we really wanted to focus on making the experience more comfortable, delicious and engaging," explained Off the Grid Founder, Matt Cohen in a press release. "The best night markets in the world are integral to the nightlife of their communities. It was with that goal in mind that we were really inspired to update the format to better incorporate some of these aspects."

One of those new aspects is Off the Grid’s two year mobile incubator program, "Instrucktional". The program aims to empower and train aspiring food entrepreneurs who are interested in launching their own mobile food business. At this year's Off the Grid Fort Mason, rotating Instrucktional entrepreneurs will be selling their unique menu items to the public for the very first time, right alongside the more seasoned vendors we already love. These entrepreneurs will rotate throughout the season, which is a convenient excuse to get us coming back to try each and every one. The first rookie foodie will be sweet and savory churros (!) from Postrique from Elizabeth Miranda.

In fact, several food vendors will be rotating in this season in addition to the cast of more permanent food characters that make up the core of California’s largest recurring night market.
