This week in the weird and wonderful chronicles of San Francisco, a Facebook event is calling for all bird-loving Bay Area residents to don their pinkest attire and head to Dolores Park next weekend for a flamingo-inspired photo-op.
Created by Eliza Chu (a San Francisco native, according to Facebook), the object of the event is to dress up in your best (or worst) pink flamingo costume and picnic with your friends in Dolores Park—making the popular park look like it's dotted with weirdly huge plastic lawn flamingos. No word yet if partygoers will need to stand on one leg for any duration of time.
So, if you love flamingos, bust out your pink tutu and head to Mission on August 19 from 1–5pm. Those will balance problems need not attend.
