The World's 50 Best Bars were announced in London yesterday, and San Francisco, of course, was well represented. Smuggler's Cove was ranked #31, Trick Dog at #40, and Tommy's (tequila) made the list at #47. This is the seventh year for the World's 50 Best Bars list, which is voted on by industry professionals.
The list adds yet another feather to San Francisco's noted food and drink cap. Smuggler's Cove, Trick Dog and Tommy's were all nominated in Tales of the Cocktail's Spirited Awards this year, and San Francisco's own Al's Place was named by Bon Appetit as the best new restaurant in America.
The World's 50 Best Bars list is heavily European, but the United States hung in there with 14 inclusions (down two from last year.) Math fans will note that with three bars on the list of Top 50, San Francisco is home to 6% of the planet's best bars. Sounds about right to us; cheers!
