If you want to snap selfies in front of super-sized candy creations, forgo the Museum of Ice Cream and head up to Nob Hill to marvel at the 1,650 pounds of candy that make up the giant gingerbread house at The Fairmont San Francisco hotel.

This year, the famously enormous gingerbread house in the Fairmont lobby will be even larger than last year’s stunning, two-story Victorian. The life-size candy mansion stands at more than 25 feet high, 35 feet wide and 10 feet deep and is made up of more than 10,250 homemade gingerbread bricks, 1,650 pounds of candy and 3,300 pounds of royal icing. That's a lot of sweets!

The latest version of the gingerbread house also includes a new, semi-private attached wing that seats up to 12 and can be reserved for the hotel’s Gingerbread Holiday Tea, dinner or a special occasion.

Not to be outdone, The Westin St. Francis has doubled its architectural sugar quotient as well.

This year, the hotel unveils not one, but two one-of-a-kind handcrafted castles in their lobby. The Medieval castle features grand circular towers, individual rooms and colorful illuminated windows and is surrounded by holiday sugar cakes. The original castle is the 12-feet-high St. Francis Enchanted Castle, a rotating winter wonderland of elaborate gift boxes,  gingerbread trees and brilliantly colored candies.

Check them out before December 31 and avoid the temptation to taste!
