Love 'em or hate 'em, the Blue Angels are back this week for another year of death-defying shows in San Francisco. Here's where to see the planes in action.

THURSDAY

Blue Angel survey flights

Look to the skies over the Embarcadero this afternoon to see the United States Navy Blue Angels’ glorious (and loud) arrival in San Francisco.

200 Marina Blvd (415-831-2700, fleetweeksf.org). Oct 5 1–5pm; free.

FRIDAY

Parade of Ships

Every year, the Navy sends a line of ships under the Golden Gate Bridge and past the waterfront for admirers to ooh and aah at. Once the boats drop anchor, you can go onboard, meet the sailors and explore the war ships.

200 Marina Blvd (415-831-2700, fleetweeksf.org). Oct 6 at 10am; free.

SATURDAY

Fleet Week Air Show

Some of the fastest planes in the world, including the U.S. Air Force’s F-22 Raptor, the Royal Canadian Air Force and France’s Breitling Jet Team, will take flight to perform death-defying twists and turns above the San Francisco Bay.

200 Marina Blvd (415-831-2700, fleetweeksf.org). Oct 7 noon–4pm; free.
