We won’t say we weren’t excited about the June 2017 opening of Hotel Via, but the main lure of the SoMA spot is its exclusive, ballpark-adjacent roof deck. It’s only accessible if you book a room or host an event—luckily, that “event” can number as small as six people. While snagging a reservation can be pricey (there's a $500 food and beverage minimum for both guests and the public), its prime location and stunning views are splurge-worthy. The indoor-outdoor space offers in-the-round views of downtown, the Bay, the Bay Bridge, and the East Bay. This roof deck is downright cozy, thanks to fire pits, ample heat lamps, and stiff cocktails.
I absolutely LOVED staying at Hotel Via! It's a new hotel (clean, swanky) in a prime location right across AT&T park & central to the park & a whole strip of nightlife.
Within the hotel is a rooftop bar (voted one of the 50 rooftop bars in the country), the gym downstairs is clean & does have a good amount equipment, including a rowing machine which I was happy about. Perfect for minimalist & people seeking a modern/clean/new hotel experience. Each room comes with a tablet that you can use to call to have toiletries delivered, look up places to eat, play music, watch tv, anything! I would definitely stay here again (they also offer discounted rates for guests that have AAA).
