Drawing comparisons with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem from the get-go, oddball psych-pop fave Dr. Dog has been making records for over a decade now. While their songwriting is openly in thrall to late-era Beatles (off-kilter chord changes, dexterous bass lines) and the Beach Boys’ splayed-out harmonies, the band has really come into its own recently, as captured on its latest album Live at a Flamingo Hotel.
