Time Out says

Few bands have blurred the lines between punk grit, Southern rock, and Americana as naturally as Lucero, and that restless mix still drives the Memphis group's live shows decades into its career. At the Castro Theatre, the longtime outfit brings a catalog that has steadily expanded while holding onto the rough edges and whiskey-soaked storytelling that first earned its devoted following. Songs can shift from ragged barroom anthems to reflective ballads without feeling like a change of direction, thanks to Ben Nichols' weathered vocals and the band's unforced chemistry. Rather than chasing nostalgia, Lucero continues to reshape its sound with touches of soul and roots rock that deepen familiar material instead of replacing it. Singer-songwriter Thomas Dollbaum opens the evening with his own understated blend of country and folk, making for a bill grounded in sharply drawn songwriting and lived-in performances.
