Start your weekend with a stiff drink

The unofficial drink of Oakland, the Mai Tai was created in the Bay Area 74 years ago. Raise a glass at Trader Vics to celebrate REAL Mai Tai Day on August 30. From 4pm to close, enjoy the Original Mai Tai for $10 and take the limited edition Mai Tai glass home with you.

Convene with anime-lovers

Crunchyroll Expo is a celebration of everything anime, manga, games, cosplay, and more, bringing fans together for three days of exhibits, screenings, panels, and appearances by some of the biggest anime personalities across the US and Japan.

Dance the night away

The 2018 Fillmore Salsa Festival kicks off on Friday night (from 6–10pm) with free dance lessons, music from Orquesta Bembe and DJ Bobby A and tasty Latin fare. Can't make it on Friday? The festivities crank up again on Saturday evening.

Solve a murder mystery

Friday is the last night in the Conservatory of Flower's popular murder mystery event series. Don your best deerstalker cap as you creep through the 18th-century greenhouse in search of clues to help you solve the who-done-it mystery. All detectives will enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or beer and bites while they attempt to solve the night’s crime.

Hit up a Bay Area Museum for free

If you’re a Bank of America card holder, you’re in luck! Members will get free admission to the de Young, Legion of Honor, Contemporary Jewish Museum and Oakland Museum of California on Saturday and Sunday.

Pretend you're in Melbourne

Melbourne’s iconic and much-photographed bathing boxes (brightly colored wooden beach huts from the early 1900s) are coming to San Francisco for a one-day-only pop-up event. Stop by O'Doul Plaza near AT&T Park to snag an IG upload and an exclusive Qantas flight offer to Melbourne, Australia.

Sip wine, peruse art

The 48th Annual Millbrae Art & Wine Festival transforms downtown Millbrae into the Big Easy. Sip wine as you peruse 250 professional vendors who will be showcasing their art, culinary concoctions, microbrews and margaritas, and much more.

Drop a line

On September 1st only, you can drop your line into the San Francisco Bay without buying a dishing license first. Try your luck at Fisherman's Wharf, Candlestick Point Park Pier, or even Lake Merced.

See Inflatable for the last time

This is your last chance to enter the Exploratorium''s strange, inflatable world. After you've marveled at a world of glowing, inflatable sea-like creatures, you can squeeze through a forest of towering cylinders, lit from within.
