The San Francisco Symphony has to be the coolest symphony orchestra around. Who else regularly performs Star Wars  and Indiana Jones films, Pixar montages and hosts an Oktoberfest filled with drinking songs and beer alongside their normal programming?

This summer, they've outdone themselves with a newly scheduled performance with rapper, hip-hop artist and activist Common. On August 1, Common and the San Francisco Symphony (with conductor Steven Reineke) will perform selections from the artist’s 2016 release Black America Again as well as other hits including “The Light” from Like Water for Chocolate, “Testify” and “Go!” from Be, and “Glory” from Selma.

Tickets for this unforgettable, one-night-only showcase range from $40–149 and are now on sale
