You've seen Mark Wahlberg in movies like Transformers: Age of Extinction, The Happening and Ted, but soon you'll be able to eat his favorite cheeseburger without leaving the city. The Boston-based burger chain Wahlburgers will open its first San Francisco restaurant on Pier 39 late this year.

Founded by Mark Wahlberg and his brothers Donnie and Paul, Wahlburgers currently boats locations in 17 states and Canada (including one in Palo Alto) and is the subject of an eponymous reality TV series that airs on A&E. The chain specializes in third-pound burgers topped with "government cheese" and "Wahl sauce," but also offers sloppy joes, chicken sandwiches and salads. Its location at tourist hotspot Pier 39 means that it will have to compete with SF's only In-N-Out.

Can a restaurant endorsed by the the star of The Italian Job join the ranks of San Francisco's best burgers? We'll have to wait and see...
