It's hard to believe that just a few years ago we were complaining about the lack of true rooftop bars in this beautiful, temperate city and now we have multiple (Charmaine's how we love you)!
The new pack member comes by way of The Pearl, the gorgeous multi-use event space in the Dogpatch that also hosts Traci Des Jardin's weeknight-only bar, School Night. In addition to adding Thursday nights to their roster, School Night will officially take over the rooftop space when The Pearl is not hosting private events.
It's not every night, so fans of drinking alfresco will have to mark their calendars in advance: The first two dates are set for Monday, August 20 and Sunday, August 26th from 4pm-8pm. They'll be serving margaritas and small bites from School Night's menu with a DJ spinning some casual tunes to set the mood.
The Pearl's sprawling, 4,655-square-foot rooftop garden, which affords 360-degree views of the Dogpatch, the Bay, and the Oakland hills beyond, is decorated with Italian porcelain tile and aglow in string lights and heat lamps. We can't think of a better way to spend a Monday night.
