If fireworks aren't loud enough for your Fourth of July, ILLUM has you covered. The Midway's annual Independence Day block party turns an industrial stretch of Dogpatch into one of the Bay Area's biggest electronic music celebrations, with deadmau5 and NERO leading this year's lineup alongside Cristoph, Rebūke, Maneki, and a Bad Apple takeover inside the RiDE stage. Multiple stages, large-scale art installations, food vendors, and outdoor dance floors keep the party moving from afternoon into the evening, giving the event the feel of a one-day festival rather than a single concert. While much of the city looks skyward after sunset, thousands of dance music fans head here instead, trading fireworks for lasers, bass, and an all-day celebration that has become a Fourth of July tradition in its own right.
