Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

Little Star has successfully won over its share of thin-crusters with its fresh take on Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, starting with a crunchy cornmeal crust that stands up to robust toppings such as tangy, chunky tomato sauce, salty feta, piquant green olives, red peppers, artichoke hearts and whole-milk mozzarella. The Mediterranean chicken pizza, made with house-baked chicken seasoned with peperoncini juice and garlic, will make you a believer.

The secret menu item at Little Star, the Brass Monkey, isn't really that secret anymore, but it's still my favorite pie to get when I'm there. Mushrooms, onions, garlic, LOTS of sausage, spinach, ricotta and feta cheese are all piled into their already-stellar thick crust pizza. Get in my belly. It's a great date spot, too - all dark and cozy-like, though sometimes it can be so dim that you can barely see what you're eating. But you're still tasting it, and that's really all that matters.
