Already a big name in the comedy world and bonafide YouTube star, the world is finally getting a dose of the irresistible charm of Issa Rae. Her new HBO series Insecure — the glossy, bigger budget extension of award-winning web series Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl — is already generating serious buzz. Catch her speaking at the War Memorial Opera House’s Herbst Theater on her experiences as a contemporary woman of color and say “you saw her when…” she was a pretty big deal, but not quite yet the supernova she’s bound to become.
