Halloween Night with The Sam Chase, Royal Jelly Jive and The Crux

Time Out says

This Halloween, we meet at an old mortuary, otherwise known as The Chapel. There we will be celebrating "The Candy Butcher's Bash", a spooky night of devilishly good music and strange circus performers. Local legends The Sam Chase and the Untraditional return for their usual foot-stompin' swaggerly folks anthems, as well as Royal Jelly Jive, the swanky SF groovemasters and booty shakers. If that's not enough, than feast your ears on the chain-link fence that is The Crux, a feared Bay Area musical cult that puts misery on the pedastool and charges you a dime to look at it. They also perfom songs too.

We hope you're expecting a wild good time. Mission Delirium and Circus Automatic will be just a few of the special guests that will be joining the party. Bring a sweet tooth, dress up in your weirdest costume, and leave the kids at home. They are gonna want to tell your grandkids about the time when you guys left the house and never came back. This party is gonna be THAT good.

THE SAM CHASE:
The Sam Chase has a voice like a Nun on the lam with a mouthful cigarettes and curse words in a lonely bar, drunkenly dancing next to a broken jukebox. His songs are scribbled, not written, on lipstick and sweat stained motel bedsheets because he likes the way the ink bleeds. His guitar runs on diesel and leaks like the morning after too much Whiskey. His is a show you'll probably want to tattoo on your body so everyone will know that you knew him before he was cool. He began to write music at the age of 14. He still has every scrap of paper he scribbled his terrible lyrics on and on occasion can even recall the infantile melodies and riffs that accompanied them.

In 2012, the world was gifted the release of his long awaited first studio album, THE SAM CHASE WILL LEAD US TO VICTORY. Its aim is to blow your mind. Its goal is world peace, where everyone wins, where victory is a basic human right. If all goes according to plan, The Sam Chase will lead you there.

THE SAM CHASE has had the honor to share the stage with some incredible acts such as: K.D. Lang and the Sis Boom Bang, Justin Townes Earle, Lucinda Williams, Poor Man's Whiskey, Herman Dune, The Brothers Comatose, and many more. He sees every stage, any raised surface, or any plot of land as a challenge to conquer it, and win the audience over. THE SAM CHASE is coming for the glory.

ROYAL JELLY JIVE:
An intoxicating mixed drink of Hard-Swing and Soul Jive, Royal Jelly Jive dives deep head-first into the old school throwback sounds of the 1940's with a groovy new twist. Rapturous horns, sleek bass, elegant keys and swingin’ cymbals are just some of the sweet tastes you may devour if you’re lucky enough to catch them. All fronted by the sultry and soulful vocals of Lauren Bjelde, this band will have you stompin’ your feet with crooked delight until the moon comes back up again. Go get yourself some of that Royal Jelly Jive now!

THE CRUX:
The Crux is a mad scientist's music laboratory, where songs are plucked apart and patched back together amid a sea of bubbles, confetti, and rattling chains. Skilled actor Josh Windmiller leads the troupe of talented multi-instrumentalists from stage to studio and back again, where they draw on musical styles from New Orleans brass to gypsy jazz to Northern California barn stomp.
