Oakland Zoo

Over the last few years the formerly cramped Oakland Zoo, in Knowland Park, has put effort into creating decent-sized naturalistic habitats for its 400-plus species, including lions and tigers, chimps, elephants, tarantulas and snakes, ibis and toucans. Other zoo attractions include the CP Huntington miniature train, a carousel and the Sky Ride, a children's petting zoo and a chair lift that takes you over the bison and elk on the 'North American Range'.
