Uncomfortable history and unresolved political issues cannot stop the artists living through the same time from having a conversation. The National Museum of Contemporary Art of Korea and The National Art Center, Tokyo of Japan have spent the last two years preparing for this very project. Curators from the two art museums traveled together and visited different galleries and studios in Korea, Japan, Europe and the U.S. to select 12 artists and 200 works. Works by Aiko Tezuka, who is famous for using threads on canvas instead of paint; Lee Seong-mi, who uses broken glass from car accident scenes in her art; and different contemporary artists from the two countries will all be showcased together
