Taking recognizable objects from life, Kuri gathers objects like the mysteries of a jigsaw puzzle, and assembles them into a poetic combination. Using volcanic rocks as a placeholder, the artist wedges a blown-up condom between the two rocks, and in “Thank you clouds (2004),” garbage bags are mounted onto ceiling fans to mimic deformed clouds.
