Time Out says

Canell’s works are small in scale, but they demand a lot of breathing room. Using sound waves to evaporate a tub full of water is one example. Canell repurposes mundane objects (nails, stray socks) and less tangible substances (water, electric currents) with an insightful lightness. The gallery janitor once swept away a piece consisting of ball of chewing gum, thinking it was trash.
