Tamara de Lempicka

Tamara de Lempicka was no ordinary painter. Not only was she born to an extremely prominent family, but she also became a leading figure of the Art Deco movement through her work ethic and intense love affair with high society. She is noted for famously saying: “There are no miracles, there is only what you make.” The works of this "queen of Art Deco," who is also noted as "the first woman artist to be a glamour star" and "the baroness with a brush," have traveled for the first time to Korea after receiving much attention in previous exhibitions around the world. Lempicka’s portraits of strong, sexually empowered women and her crisp, bold and colorful methods of painting showcased here are definitely not to be missed.
