The paintings sort of look like rainbow-colored grease floating on top of aluminum panels. But take some time to make out the abstract splotches, as you’ll see works by Flemish masters and John Constable’s clouds in the mix. Ziegler takes images from old and classic masterpieces, renders and distorts them on the computer, then transfers the resulting images onto aluminum panels—and he uses a similar digital process to build his sculptures as well. But unlike the paintings, you won’t be able to spot the Iberian head that Picasso famously stole from the Louvre Museum, as he smoothed away the details of the face in the form of a cubist sculpture.
