Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

It's easy to overlook Jazz Story; its exterior is nothing more than sheet metal and an unremarkable wooden deck on a quiet street near Marronnier Park in Hyehwa. Once inside, however, visitors quickly become entranced. Metal molds of scissors and knives cover the walls while wires stretch out the overhead loft and bend and wind upward, as if dancing. Even a hand-crafted airplane hovers above patrons, threatening to fall at any moment. But as industrial as the bar seems to be, velvet-covered chairs, shelves of vinyl records, and clusters of candles create a cozy, romantic atmosphere which is only enhanced by the excellent live music (which isn't only jazz) performed every night of the week beginning at 8:30pm (8pm on Sundays). Drinks aren't anything to write home about and are quite pricey. But the atmopshere and the melodies make a visit here more than worth it.
