Deux Cremes is a fixture on trendy Garosu-gil, a street known as much for cafes and boutiques as for its quickly changing storefronts. Nonetheless, the size and location of the store has gone through some changes, and now just one branch is open on the main street. At the establishment of Deux Cremes in 2008, they took owernship of the tarte trend at a time when most cafes were baking cakes and cookies. Deux Cremes, which means “two creams” in French, sells mostly tartes that have been made with two layers of cream: whipped cream and mousse. Desserts vary slightly every season, as they use seasonal fruits. In accordance with Korean palates, their cream is soft and not overpowering, crusts are buttery and flaky, and their fruit is fresh and sweet.
