This past April marked the opening of a specialty café in Yeomri-dong, where cafés are a rare sight. Funnel’s most popular varieties include the rich Colombian Bella Vista and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. Their coffee beans are roasted in-store, and there is a loyal team that hunts down and roasts Funnel’s beans with care. Be it through the dripper, Chemex or AeroPress, all the single-origin specialty coffees are relatively affordable at 5,000 won per mug. Only bar seating is available, which makes for awkward standing when the café is busy but on the rare occasion it’s not, you get the chance to have a conversation with the owner.
