Set up by Park Rok-dam, Jaheehyang is located on Deoksugung-gil and is run by a brewery in Jeollanam-do. Much of the makgeolli we come into contact with is not made with traditional methods but with Japanese yeast and artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame. But here, rice, wheat and nuruk are the sole ingredients used during brewing, and the sweetness of the ingredients is naturally infused into the drink after about 100 days of fermentation. Served in wine glasses, Jaheehyang Premium and Jaheehyang Cheonju are the most sought-after drinks here.
