Modern Sik-dang (CLOSED)

This restaurant, located in the hip Hannam-dong area, has a modern atmosphere and beautifully plated traditional Korean food served with house makgeolli that’s been imported from a brewery in the Pocheon area. The key to getting the full flavors of the makgeolli here is to sprinkle a bit of pine pollen on the drink before you imbibe. It’s also known to solve hangovers. Popular dishes here, are the arugula potato pancake, steamed pork (served whole and cut at the table) and steamed manila clams infused with white wine. The atmosphere of the ‘90s and early 2000s are captured here and the music of Lee So-ra, Kim Dong-ryul and Panic flow from the speakers.
