Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

When Muntaro first opened its doors in 2004, there weren't many Izakaya-style restaurants nor bars in Itaewon. But with its sweeping advent, the neigborhood hustled around Cheil building has quickly become one of the most sought-after 'Izakaya streets' in Itaewon. With the infamous Yuda huddled next to the venue and Chun-sang right across the street, Muntaro is situtated in the most strategic streets of Itaewon. To be frank, the quality of food isn’t up to its glory days, but it is still considered to be the most reputable Izakaya in the whole of Itaewon. The one-page menu offers skewers, octopus karaage, potato croquettes, as well as various fried goods that are without a doubt, top-notch, but the legendary Nagasaki soup is rather disappointing in comparison.
