Time Out says

Both the food and ambience of Polpo Press feel comforting, like a gathering at the house of a friend—a friend who knows good food, and has particular tastes and a neat personality. It’s a friend whose food you can always trust will be good. Polpo Press, housed in a cozy renovated hanok in a narrow alley by Jaedong Elementary School, serves homestyle European and sells cookbooks directly brought over from overseas. The beautifully designed cookbooks are filled with lovely photographs and are objects of desire in and of themselves, not just as a source of recipes, tempting both your appetite and your materialistic urges. There’s more, such as the pleasure of looking at the pictures on the wall and admiring the serving dishes, which all consistently reflect the owner’s taste. The most important thing is, of course the food. The seasonal menu stands out in particular, featuring dishes made from seasonal ingredients. If you’re craving a taste of their healthy fare, it’s recommended you call before you make a visit.
