Review
Tokyo Saikabo's gorgeous building, voted as the one of the most beautiful buildings in Gangnam, coupled with the recent trend in Japanese dining, made this restaurant one of THE places when it opened five years ago. Its majestic (but far from flamboyent) interior complements its trendy and high quality Japanese cusine, as well as its sake selection with various Japanese side dishes at night. In keeping with the neighborhood (there are several popular Cheongdam clubs nearby), many patrons stop here as a warm-up before hitting the clubs. Though its become ever so slightly less trendy (which many may observe with a sigh of relief), the place is now becoming a regular spot for those craving well-made Japanese cuisine. Lunch courses using seasonal ingredients, as well as set menus comprising udon (noodle) and rice with various toppings are popular as good values. The monaka (Japanese red bean, mochi and wafer sweet) and ice cream topped with fine bean powder should never be missed after a satisfying meal.
