You may have never seen the yellow petals of gaenari (or forsythia) before coming to Korea, as most of the flower’s species are native to East Asia. Gaenari is quite common in Seoul and it’s easy to see these flowers casually line the streets. However, to see them in full bloom, head to the Eunbongsan where you’ll be surrounded left and right with yellow. There are also various activities being held especially for the festival - such as the Eunbongsan rock climbing experience, gaenari music festival, face-painting and nail-art stations, food stalls and more. Most of the events are free during this three day festival, making it a perfect day out on a warm spring day.
