We will gather Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM for a round table where community members will discuss reactions to the book and possible collaborative initiatives that entail proactive solutions to climate change. Community members are invited to join Marie Nelson, professor Emerita in Integrated Studies at National Louis University, certified permaculture designer, and founder of Tampa Bay Time Bank Carl Herndl, professor teaching Rhetoric in the USF English Department and “Communicating the Value of Sustainability” at the Patel College of Global Sustainability. He is the author of Green Culture; Environmental Rhetoric in Contemporary America and Sustainability: A Reader for Writers. and Andrew Rock, founder of Tampa Bay Buddhist Climate Action Network, previously a health care attorney, and president of the board of Sweetwater Organic Community Farm and Florida Community of Mindfulness. They will bring different perspectives on the book and open the conversation to the table.
Join the Bridge, USF students and Tampa community members to reflect on the Klein’s statements. “Climate change is not just a threat – it’s also an opportunity to chart a different course”. Let’s work towards solutions for building a more just, democratic and resilient world.
