Animal Coalition of Tampa says
On November 14th, 2015 join The Animal Coalition of Tampa (ACT) and The Blind Tiger Cafe, for another edition of Cat-urday, Tampa’s first Cat Café Adoption Event. This pop-up cat café takes place between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.

Cat cafes have been popular in Japan for over a decade. The concept of a cat café is to promote the adoption of shelter cats in a casual, coffee shop environment, providing a unique experience to both those looking to adopt a cat and cat lovers alike.

ACT and The Blind Tiger Café have partnered with the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center, the county shelter, for this event. Public shelters are often over-crowed with healthy, animals in need of forever homes. With the holidays quickly approaching, the Cat-urday event aims to help place loving shelter cats into caring homes.

The Animal Coalition of Tampa, a low cost spay neuter and wellness clinic, has stepped up to help the Pet Resource Center place shelter cats. Part of ACT’s mission is to keep cats and dogs out of shelters and promote adoptions, which is why events like Cat-urday are important.
The Blind Tiger and ACT want to bring attention to the plight of needy shelter cats, and what better way than to enjoy a handcrafted drink of coffee or tea, while getting to play with, pet and adopt a new best friend?

The Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center is offering special “name your own price,” donation-based adoption fees for this event. Kitty interactions will take place in Co-Work Ybor, an extension of The Blind Tiger Café. There will also be a private “meet and greet” room where attendees can take the cat of their choice for playtime, reducing the stress of the pets. All attendees who adopt a cat or kitten will receive a gift bag from Animal Coalition of Tampa. Cat lovers not currently able to adopt are welcome to attend this special event, and volunteers will accept a suggested donation of $5.
