Please join me at the Gasparilla International Film Festival on Saturday, March 28 at 5:30pm Channelside Cinemas for the screening of "Eadweard," a film on the life of film pioneer Eadweard Muybridge.
The film is a complex portrait of film pioneer Eadweard Muybridge, a British photographer whose series of 24 photographs taken of a galloping horse for his experiments, called "Sallie Gardner at a Gallop," is considered by some to be one, if not the earliest silent film. Thomas Edison cited Muybridge's experiments as one of his greatest inspirations for the invention of the movie camera. Eadweard Muybridge was an eccentric and controversial personality. He killed his cheating wife's lover and got acquitted.
Starring Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries), Michael Eklund (Bates Motel), Torrance Coombs (Reign) and Christopher Heyerdahl (True Blood).
The director Kyle Rideout and actor Torrance Combs will attend the screening with Patrizia La Trecchia, Ph.D., Associate Professor, University of South Florida.
