Hoppy Gilmore: Tampa Theatre's 5th Annual Beer Fest says
Tickets are on sale now for Hoppy Gilmore, Tampa Theatre’s BeerFest 2016, which will tee off on Saturday, June 18.

Like previous beer-soaked, tongue-in-cheek BeerFest events like The Brews Brothers, The Big Lebrewski and O Brewer, Where Art Thou?, Hoppy Gilmore will feature craft beers and local brewers, plus snacks and samples from some of Tampa’s top independent restaurants:

* 7venth Sun Brewery
* Angry Chair Brewing
* Cigar City Brewing
* Coppertail Brewing Co.
* Escape Brewing
* Green Bench Brewing Co.
* Hidden Springs Ale Works
* Jug & Bottle Dept.
* Motorworks Brewing
* Ulele Spring Brewery

* Café Hey
* Drama Burger
* Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe
* Fly Bar
* Fodder & Shine
* Ichicoro Ramen
* The Independent
* New World Brewery
* The Refinery
* Rooster & the Till
* Roux

Returning BeerFest event co-chairs Michelle Baker, co-owner of The Refinery and Fodder & Shine, and Veronica Danko, owner of The Independent Bar and Cafe, promise that Hoppy Gilmore will feature enough hijinks on the links to do Bob Barker proud.

For the first time this year, BeerFest expands out onto Franklin Street, where guests are invited to just tap it in. Give it a little tappy. Tap Tap Taparoo... and try out their Shooter McGavin skills at two interactive chipping and putting games outside on Franklin Street, compliments of Portable Golf Solutions, NorthStar Bank and Topgolf.

DJ Rich Ranck will be spinning in the lobby, and patrons are also invited to don their over-the-top country club best, dress as their favorite character, or come in a Happy Gilmore-inspired costume.

And though the theme may be silly, the purpose is most serious: Now in its 5th year, the (almost) annual BeerFest is one of Tampa Theatre’s favorite fundraising events, benefiting the historic movie palace’s artistic, educational and community programs, as well as its ongoing preservation and restoration.

A limited number of tickets are available for the Premium tasting at 7:00pm, giving guests an extra hour of food and beer samples with shorter lines at the stations. The restaurants and breweries are also invited to bring premium samples intended to run out after that first hour. Then, the Grand tasting starts at 8:00pm, with plenty more sips and snacks for everyone until 10:00pm.

Guests must be 21 years of age or older to participate in this event. A valid, government-issued photo ID is required for entry.

BeerFest 2016 is sponsored by Mutual of Omaha Bank; Harris and Hunt, P.A.; IT Authorities; NorthStar Bank; and Sun Equities Consulting, LLC. Media support is provided by eNox Media, tbt* and the St. Petersburg Times.
