PEACE Volunteer Center - University of Tampa says
October 5th-9th is Mental Health Awareness Week. The PEACE Volunteer Center and Active Minds want to educate, comfort, and make students aware of different types of mental illnesses, such as: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and personality disorders.

Throughout the week in Plant Hall Lobby, we will be tabling. There will be information, an encouragement banner, where students can support each other and make their peers feel included, Stigma Free pledges, and black flag donations, for those who lost their lives to mental illness.

Thursday, October 8th (12-5 PM): Active Minds will have screening and a table on the second floor of Vaughn with more information on mental illness. They will also be giving out FREE mood rings and stress balls!

Friday, October 9th (7-9 PM): There will be a Candlelight Vigil in Vaughn Courtyard in which black flags will be placed with the names of those who have lost their lives to mental illness. There will be a guest speaker talking about suicide.
