Time Out says

Month of the Irish Pub Crawl - March 21 You’re Invited! Notre Dame Club of Greater Tampa Bay Presents: Month of the Irish Pub Crawl: Post-Saint Paddy’s Party edition!!! March 21, 2015, party starts at 7:00 PM South Tampa’s “SoHo” South Howard District Proceeds Benefit the Student Scholarship Fund The Notre Dame Club of Greater Tampa Bay is proud to announce its fourth semi-annual pub crawl, titled “Month of the Irish Pub Crawl: Post-Saint Paddy’s Party edition,” hosted by the club’s Young Alumni Board. Just because St. Patrick’s day is over doesn’t mean we Irish can’t continue the party!!! The pub crawls have become a staple ND Club activity for the young (and young-at-heart) alumni in the past two years! Not only will it be a fun way for ND family and friends to come together once again in celebration of all things Irish, this event is also primarily a fundraiser for our Student Scholarship Fund. 100% of the proceeds from the pub crawl armband purchases will go towards the Notre Dame Club of Greater Tampa Bay Scholarship Fund. This fund allows the club to award scholarships to high school seniors who have been accepted by the University of Notre Dame and have been determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid to have financial need. In short: meet people, have some drinks and/or do some wacky stunts, AND support a good cause? Now THAT’s working and playing like champions! RSVP to Madeline Flores at mroe2@alumni.nd.edu so we can provide a proper headcount to the bars! We look forward to seeing you there! Or you can like our event page on Facebook and RSVP that way! $20 gets you the wristband to participate in the pub crawl. We will have an official “ND Pub Crawl Drinking Game & Scavenger Hunt” along the entire route. You do not need to drink to earn points and compete! Various swag and prizes will be awarded to the top scorers and to those who know their ND trivia! The wristbands also are the only way you will receive exclusive food and drink discounts at every bar. Pub Crawl Schedule 7:00 – 7:45 pm DUBLINER. Check-in. Pay $20.00 per participant in exact cash or write check payable to Notre Dame Club of Greater Tampa Bay. Get wristband and support the Student Scholarship Fund through your contribution! Also, receive instructions & materials for how to play the Official ND Pub Crawl Drinking & Scavenger Game. 7:45 –8:30 pm SOHO TAVERN. Custom ND Pub Crawl drink is the Irish Monkey! It’s soooo good! 8:30 – 9:00 pm WITCHES ‘WICHES. This is a new establishment along SoHo and features craft beer and awesome sandwiches. They are happy to provide some food specials in hopes of gaining new customers, which is probably a good idea halfway through the crawl! 9:00 – 10:00 pm YARD OF ALE. LOTS of fun to be had here, so we’re spending double the time. Points awarded for wins in mega-Jenga and cornhole, hitting a bulls-eye in darts, and singing karaoke either solo or in a group! Drink specials on their “yard” drinks (yes, 1 yard = 3’ tall glass). This is a great spot for everyone to pad their scores as we enter the second half of the crawl. 10:00 – 10:30 pm SOHO SALOON. This place is very hospitable to ND pub crawlers. $3 beers along with a custom drink for the ND pub crawlers. Sink a shot at pool and get even more points. 10:30 pm – ??? MACDINTON’S. We end the crawl at our beloved MacDinton’s, who always rolls out the red carpet for us. The manager is honoring all football gamewatch drink specials ($3 Irish beers, $5 Irish shots, including another custom ND pub crawl shot). They even are keeping their kitchen staff on a little later (‘til 11pm) to offer exclusive food specials for us. Come end the night with live music and the crowning of the 4th ND Pub Crawl Champion! The winner will receive an embroidered ND cap and be enshrined among pub crawl champions past. Make sure to bring your cap if you’ve won before for a group photo!!! About the Scholarship Foundation The Notre Dame Club of Greater Tampa Bay has an affiliated Scholarship Foundation, and one of the missions of our club is to raise money for it. Each spring, the Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors who have been accepted by the University of Notre Dame and have been determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid to have financial “need” – to require additional financial assistance to enable the student and his/her family to afford the cost of a Notre Dame education. Only high school students whose primary residence is located within our Club’s boundaries, as determined by the Notre Dame Alumni Association are eligible for the Notre Dame Club of Greater Tampa Bay Scholarship Foundation awards. FAQ’S 1. Do I need to buy a wristband for the Pub Crawl? This is a fundraiser to benefit the Notre Dame Student Scholarship Fund. The scholarship that this event supports makes a huge difference to students going to school. Buying a wristband is the only way the various bars will honor our specials for you. That being said, if you don’t want to pay $20.00, you can still walk and participate in our scavenger hunt. Again, this is a fundraiser and the proceeds are going to help young students going to Notre Dame, so please, if at all possible, consider purchasing a wristband. Also, if you are coming along as a designated driver (you rock!), let us know and receive a blue wristband free-of-charge at check-in. All bars will give you a free soft-drink at each designated stop. 2. How do I buy a wristband/sign-up? Just show up! While not required to walk along with us in the crawl, wristbands can be purchased for $20 the day of the event at our home base of the Dubliner between 7 – 7:45 pm. We encourage you to RSVP ahead of time just so that we can give an approximate headcount to the bars, which will help when planning the space needs for the games and activities. 3. I'll be late - where do I check in/get wristbanded after the Crawl starts? Try to meet us along the route, according to the schedule above. From there, we will happily take your money and give you a wristband. 4. Where do I park? SoHo has some street parking, but your best bet is to park in MacDinton’s complimentary valet parking or find a place that has paid valet. Another option is Yard of Ale’s $5.00 valet lot which is near our starting point location of the Dubliner. 5. I don't want to drive after the Pub Crawl - what do I do? Good thinking! Take a taxi - any bar on the Crawl will happily call one for you. Or call 888-ZINGO11, and Zingo will drive you and your car home. If you’re getting picked up from MacDinton’s, Zingo will drive your car home for free as part of their partnership with the bar. Of course, there’s Uber if local government hasn’t shut it down yet! 6. My friends aren't ND alumni - can they still come? YES! Everybody is welcome to join. While this is a Young Alumni hosted event, we encourage family and friends of all ages…okay, 21 and up…. to join in on this event. After all, everyone’s a little Irish around St. Patty’s day, right? 7. What's the weather like? Most likely warm, but you won’t feel it after a few cold ones. The Pub Crawl will take place regardless of the weather. 8. What should I wear/bring? We strongly recommend bringing TWO forms of ID, as some bars in this district are very strict about entrance if you are age 25 or under. A driver’s license, passport, military ID, will be accepted, along with additional form of ID (credit card, library card, etc.) Though not required, feel free to rock a ND shirt, cap, or shorts. Love Irish/Leprechaun gear? Rock it like it’s going out of style and get into the spirit of the crawl. The greener, the better! 9. What else should I know? Probably many things! This event is put on by the Notre Dame Club of Greater Tampa Bay - and you should get involved! Learn about our various events throughout the year, become involved, and have fun – contact Madeline Flores at mroe2@alumni.nd.edu or Christian Galvan at cgalvan09@gmail.com for more info or ask at the Crawl! Act responsibly. And have fun! Please visit our website: www.ndtampabay.com
