Description:

Class 6 - 9 pm

Learning how to exploit shutter speed to create artistic images is one of the major differences between the capabilities of the human eye vs the camera sensor. In this workshop we’ll focus on creating unique, interesting, and artistic photographs by taking control of the cameras shutter speed in beautiful locations in the Tampa Bay Area such as Cypress Point Park, Curtis Hixon Park and Plant Park. This workshop will cover the advantages and unique qualities that both a high and low shutter speed can provide to an image.

In this workshop, we will:
Learn the process of dialing in the correct exposure for sunset and long exposure nighttime photography
Create intentional motion blur using water, car headlights, and people as our subjects
Learn techniques for camera stabilization without a tripod
Choose the proper camera settings for long exposures
Learn to find accurate focus in dark situations
Properly expose images of landscapes and the night sky
Practice “light painting”, a really fun technique
Learn how to freeze a subject with flash and then allow ambient light to saturate the image

What you need:
DSLR Camera
Tripod/shutter release (recommended not needed)
