Small Plot Intensive Gardening Workshop

Time Out says
Gear up for the peak of the growing season here in Florida by learning how to increase the fertility of your soil from a lifelong gardener, and certified permaculture designer Jim Kovaleski.
Increase your success at gardening in small spaces as Jim shares with you his techniques that produced 4,700 lbs of squash from less than a quarter of bed space in Maine. Jim will adapt that knowledge to Florida and show you how to maximize your on-site fertility utilizing natural methods such as hand tools and worms. He’ll also demonstrate how to use soil blocks, seed saving, and scythe mowing and sharpening. Jim will discuss his changing perceptions of soils, plant competition, efficiency and unseen forces. If you’ve always wanted to grow your own food but thought your city living prevented it, let Jim prove you wrong!
Suggested Donation: $10-20, cash or check only please.
