Time Out says

If you're looking for the most colourful NYE parties in Tokyo, head straight on down to Shinjuku Ni-chome: the rainbow neighbourhood will have three parallel happenings taking place, allowing you to hop between Aisotope Lounge, Alamas Cafe and Aiiro Cafe in search of the hottest atmosphere. Aiiro and Alamas will see DJs spinning tunes from 6pm – no cover charge is required for either of these, although you'll need to pay ¥1,000 for your first order at Alamas. The main attraction, however, is Aisotope's 'Josou Kohaku': Ni-Chome's parody version of the iconic NHK music show returns for the 15th year in a row. Announced by cross-dressing foursome Margarette, Bourbonne, Bubreena and Kochoran, the Josou Kohaku Uta Gassen is always a wild and rowdy but good-mannered and fun affair. This year's performers include names like Esmeralda, Babienobitch and Nikunokoji Nikuyo, and the main event will be followed by a decidedly gay countdown to 2018.
