The Trunk Hotel lobby has never been this lively. To the uninitiated, going to a Ballroom event on a Sunday night might seem a bit full on, but nothing can snap you out of your Sunday Scaries faster than a show-stopping performance.
Koppi Mizrahi will be hosting this underground ball, where Tokyo’s drag queens, voguers and other top performers will be putting forward their best routines in front of a panel of judges. On the judging panel are Aya Ninja, Jun Nakayama, drag queen Labianna Joroe and Diamonds are Forever founder Simone Fukayuki.
This is the first time a Ballroom event of this scale will be hosted in Shibuya, thanks to efforts by Q(WE)R and Brian Rentz (Hyphen) who wanted to make this event more accessible to those who have yet to be introduced to this dazzling scene, celebrating the queer subculture. The event will take place after the Pride Parade, so attendees are welcome to come as they are.
