Tokyo's premier cheerleader for old-school Japanese pop and folk – aka wamono – DJ Chinbanteigoraku Shisho returns to Shimokita to put on one of his very own parties. This edition of Yagura Session features two of the very best bands putting a new spin on domestic grooves: Aragehonzi, who marry the unique rhythms and singing style of folk and matsuri music with neo-soul influences, and Minyo Crusaders, a Tokyo collective who blend Japanese folk with Latin beats, bringing together two polarised musical forms and creating a harmony so funky you can’t help but stand up and dance.
